The Boneyard is Open from Sunrise until 10:00 PM Daily
We Have Lights!!
The Grand Opening of the Boneyard was held on April 22, 2006, and was attended by a large crowd of dignitaries and members of the community. Since then, the park has been used by hundreds of people each week and has become an important part of the Culver City Park system.
Friends of the Culver City Dog Park and the City of Culver City entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in April, 2005 to establish responsibilities for and our mutual commitment to the opening of the Boneyard as Culver City's off leash dog park. In May, 2005, the City entered into an agreement with an oil company which resulted in the removal of oil pipes from the dog park site.
FCCDP has spent more than $85,000 on the dog park site so far, and we continue to raise money to pay for improvements. The City received a grant from the County in the amount of $150,000 to add items such as shade and weather structures, improved drainage, plants, an entry way and more.
We are grateful to the City Council, the City Attorney's office, the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, the Public Works Department and all of the other City Staff who have been instrumental in making this project happen.
Please write to the City Council to express your appreciation for the City's support for this project.
